The annual Beaver Creek Resort Easter Eggstravaganza will take place on the snow at Creekside Park starting at 10:30am, Saturday, April 3rd.  The Eggstravaganza features an Easter Egg Hunt with 3,000 eggs and other fun giveaways. After the big egg hunt, the Easter Bunny will grab a seat in his throne and welcome little guests for a meet and greet. Don't forget to bring your camera and get a picture with the Easter Bunny!

Today, starting at 3:30 p.m., fans will gather in Vail Square in Lionshead and will receive Lindsey Vonn Commemorative pins, hot chocolate, cookies and entertainment including a DJ. They will also have a chance to win Epic 7 ski passes.

Vonn will take the stage at 4 p.m. followed by a special press conference just for kids. During the children's press conference, Vonn will pass a torch to children in the Ski & Snowboard Club Vail who just finished competing in the Junior Olympics.

Dobson Arena hosted the Special Olympics made possible by an anonymous donation. Funding woes almost cancelled the event when a turn in events made it possible for the athletes to compete!
About 66 athletes from across the state competed in figure skating and speed skating Monday morning at Dobson Ice Arena. Athletes at Copper Mountain also competed in alpine events, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on Sunday and Monday.

Vonn is tops on ski World Cup prize money list.

The international Ski Federation released the list of its top money-winners.

Vonn, from Vail Colorado, earned $466,000!  Plish cross-country skier Justyna Kowalczyk was next with $346,000.

America’s original Pro/Am celebrity ski event returns to Vail Mountain March 17-20 as the 2010 Korbel California Champagne American Ski Classic takes Golden Peak by storm.

Some of the greatest names in ski racing history, including Olympic, World Championships and World Cup champions will kickoff the festivities Thursday, March 18, as old rivalries are rekindled in the Volvo Legends of Skiing Giant Slalom competition, followed by a special edition of the Bud Light Street Beat free concert series featuring Cowboy Mouth.

Fun Facts:

Did you know the first St. Patrick's Day parade took place, not in Ireland, but in the United States?  The earliest parade date noted was in 1737 in Boston.

Half-Pipe
Accessible by the Centennial Express lift (#6). Located off of Barrel Stave, Half Barrel half pipe is designed for experienced riders and skiers. The Beaver Creek Half Pipe is approximately 350 - 400 ft long with 18ft walls.
