VAIL VALLEY, Colorado — The highway cleanup planned for Saturday in Colorado's Vail Valley has been postponed a week.

After a foot of snow buried the Vail Valley organizers on Thursday decided to reschedule the cleanup for Saturday, May 8.

“We want people to be able to see the trash,” said Melissa Macdonald, executive director of the Eagle River Watershed Council.

The party for participants in the cleanup is still on for this coming Saturday at 4Eagle Ranch.

EAGLE – Direct flights from foreign airports into the Eagle County Regional Airport may be one step closer.

Eagle County officials are working on a deal with the Vail Valley Jet Center — which provides services to private jets that fly into the airport — that might allow international flights to use the old commercial passenger terminal at the airport. That space is basically unused now.

In Edwards, at the Battle Mountain High School Auditorium.

Today through Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2 pm.

Lacrosse players tap-dancing, not a common site, but surprisingly good, Aaron Szindler says.

The musical, a clasic Ira and George Gershwin number, is full of humor.

There will also be an Opening Night dinner for $10 which begins at 6pm.

Tickets, $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, $5 for children under 11.

All proceeds go to Battle Mountain High.

With over four feet of snow last week, and the largest 24-hour recorded total snowfall since the 2000-2001 ski season, Vail announced that it will expand its closing week operating plan.

Starting Monday, April 12, guests will have access to the mountain from Golden Peak, Vail Village and Lionshead. Over 3,600 acres of skiable terrain will be accessible through Sunday, April 18.

In addition, Vail Resorts is offering discounted multi-day lift tickets for closing week for just $199, good for up to 7 days of skiing.

The Vail Valley Foundation's Bud Light Street Beat only has two more free concerts on the docket for the 2010 season. Tomorrow night (Wednesday, April 7), Danielia Cotton takes the stage at The Arrabelle at Vail Square in Lionshead at 6pm.

Beaver Creek has a grand 14" of fresh snow! 

It's never too late in the season for a great spring storm.  April 11th is the final ski day in Beaver Creek this year, and Vail will have their final day on the 18th.
