Lindsey Vonn Homecoming in Vail!!!

Today, starting at 3:30 p.m., fans will gather in Vail Square in Lionshead and will receive Lindsey Vonn Commemorative pins, hot chocolate, cookies and entertainment including a DJ. They will also have a chance to win Epic 7 ski passes.

Vonn will take the stage at 4 p.m. followed by a special press conference just for kids. During the children's press conference, Vonn will pass a torch to children in the Ski & Snowboard Club Vail who just finished competing in the Junior Olympics.

Vail Resorts says Vonn's success is very special to the city, the state and future Olympic hopefuls.

"It means so much because she's become such a tremendous ambassador not just for Vail but for all of skiing and particularly for kids. She takes that very seriously. They all look up to her," Vail Resorts Corporate Communications Vice President Kelly Ladyga said. "There are so many kids who are going to be there today at the homecoming celebration who really now see themselves as future Olympians so she really has energized an interest in skiing and ski racing and we couldn't ask for a better ambassador for Vail."

Vonn was born in Minnesota and started skiing there at the age of 2. Her parents and coaches noticed her talent and decided to move her to Vail, where she later learned to race and has lived ever since.
